Clothing Donation Shed
Trinity sponsors a clothing drop off shed for the community to use as a drop off for clothing. The clothing will be distributed all over the United States and world to those who can use it. Trinity Lutheran Church will in turn receive 4 cents for every pound of clothing that is donated.
This program keeps clothing out of landfills, helps out those in need, and helps Trinity reach out to the community with additional funding.
St. Pauly is a family-owned company based in Upstate New York and is an A+ rated member of the Better Business Bureau. St. Pauly collects useable clothing, shoes, sneakers, belts, purses, linens, blankets and drapes. For the complete list of sheds and more information about St. Pauly, visit http://www.St-Pauly.com
Cardboard and Paper Recycling
We partner to provide paper and cardboard recycling at the drop off location in our parking lot. Trinity get s a small percentage of the funds from this recycling that we donate to the Northeastern Ohio Synod.
Plastic Recycling
We work with the Kent Lions Club and the Trex Recycle Program to offer recycling of plastic bags into benches. The box for plastic collection is inside our building in the Great Hall hallway off of the parking lot. It takes 1,000 pounds of plastic to make a bench, keeping that plastic out of landfills. As of the start of 2025, Trinity has collected enough plastic to make three benches. We have one bench in our Great Hall hallway. We have donated one to Kent Social Services.
